Families came together at Thompson Park for a free Family Fun Day ahead of the summer holidays.
Organised by Burnley Council through Burnley Fun, Food & Friends, the event took place on Sunday 5th July and gave children and families the chance to enjoy a day of free activities in the park.
There was plenty going on throughout the day, from arts and crafts to sports, games and entertainment. Families also enjoyed free boat rides and train rides, which proved popular with children.
Local providers were there too, giving families the chance to find out more about the holiday clubs, activities and support available across Burnley over the summer.
Many families brought picnics and made an afternoon of it, enjoying the park and taking part in the activities on offer.
Burnley Fun, Food & Friends is part of the Holiday Activities and Food programme, which supports eligible children and young people during the school holidays with free activities, food and opportunities to stay active, creative and connected.
Families still looking for things to do over the school holidays can visit www.burnleyhaf.org.uk to see which holiday clubs have spaces available and how to book.
The Family Fun Day was part of Burnley Council’s work with local partners to support families across the borough and help children enjoy a happy, healthy summer.
