Playing Pitch Strategy
Work began on updating the Playing Pitch and Open Space Strategy (PPOSS), previously known as the Playing Pitch Strategy (PPS) in early 2022. The Playing Pitch Strategy (PPOSS) provides a strategic framework for the maintenance and improvement of existing outdoor sports pitches and ancillary facilities between 2022 and 2027. The updated strategy was adopted by the Council in August 2023. Further information and a copy of the Strategy can be found here.
The previous Playing Pitch Strategy 2016-2032 (PPS) for Rossendale, Pendle and Burnley informed the then emerging Local Plan and provided a strategic framework for the maintenance and improvement of existing outdoor sports pitches and ancillary facilities between 2016 and 2026.
