Skin Piercing Registration:

If you provide any of the treatments mentioned below you must register with your Local Council.  This is to ensure that you meet the relevant health & safety standards and avoid the risk of infection.


Cosmetic Piercing & ears

Acupuncture (not in a medical setting)


Semi-permanent make-up (eye brows, lips etc)



Registration cannot be refused and involves an inspection of your premises and paperwork.  You will be required to have a clinical waste contract, insurance certificate and qualification details (where applicable).  A personal registration is required by others working in your business providing skin piercing treatments.

On receipt of your completed application form we will contact you to arrange a suitable date/time to inspect your business.

It is illegal to conduct skin piercing procedures unless registration has been formally approved.

Payment is due after inspection. Once an inspection has taken place, please make your payment here.
