Burnley Council’s Home Improvement Agency

Dedicated to helping older, disabled and vulnerable residents to live safely and independently in their own home, and can include repairing, maintaining or adapting their home. Find out more in our Home Improvement page.

Down Town Community Cooking

ICANN (Independent Community Advocacy Network North)

Benefit Assessment Advocacy Service providing help with benefit applications and appeals (including PIP, ESA, UC50, Child DLA, WCA and Attendance Allowance) and support at health assessments and tribunals.

Burnley Together Hub

Provision of grants to provide essentials such as beds, mattresses, fridge freezers, cookers, oil filled radiators, cleaning starter packs, toiletry starter packs, baby starter packs, household starter packs, winter warmer packs. 

Burnley Community Grocery

Affordable food and essentials at 2 community groceries in Burnley at Valley Street and Down Town in the town centre. £5/year membership; £5 per shop.

Burnley Foodbank

Not just a food bank but a food distribution hub! We support families with one parcel per month but also coordinate food donations from Kellogg’s and Warburtons to support school breakfast clubs.

The Period Coach

The aim is to help people save money and educate on menstrual wellbeing to enable inactive people be active. This will create sustainability by using re-useable products which will last them years of menstrual cycles. Products are available for free. Contact: periodcoach@gmail.com

Lancashire Women’s Centre

With a venue in Burnley they offer support with employment, mental health and wellbeing support, money advice and energy advice. They also deliver the Handywoman Service for small repairs, safety measures, home security and energy efficiency improvements.
