
Burnley Borough Council is inviting voluntary, community and faith organisations across the borough to apply for funding through its new Community Pride Small Grants Programme 2026/27, which opens for applications today.
The programme aims to support projects that strengthen community engagement, build resilience and independence, improve local neighbourhoods and increase community pride across Burnley.
Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available for eligible organisations, with successful projects required to be delivered by 31 March 2027.
Applications are welcomed from constituted community groups, charities, faith organisations, resident groups and not-for-profit Community Interest Companies that are based in, or deliver activities within, Burnley Borough.
Projects supported through the programme could include:
- Community events and activities
- Environmental improvement projects
- Youth and intergenerational initiatives
- Volunteering programmes
- Community wellbeing activities
- Skills-sharing and learning opportunities
- Activities that bring residents and generations together and strengthen local communities
Councillor Ishtiaq Mohammed, Executive Member for Community and Environmental Services, said:
“Our communities are at the heart of everything we do, and this grants programme is about giving local organisations the support they need to make a real difference in the places where people live. We know that community groups, charities and volunteers play a vital role in bringing people together, improving neighbourhoods and creating opportunities for residents. Through the Community Pride Small Grants Programme, we want to empower local organisations to deliver projects that strengthen community spirit and build resilience.
The application process has been designed to be simple and accessible, particularly for grassroots organisations.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 19 June 2026.
