In July 2023, an appeal was made against the non-determination by the Council of the following planning application.

- Application for Full Planning Permission for the erection of 200 dwellings and associated works.
An Inspector was appointed by the Secretary of State and a Public Inquiry was held in October 2023 at Burnley Town Hall. Planning Inspectorate reference: APP/Z2315/W/23/3325783. The Inspector decided the appeal on 7 December 2023 and granted planning permission subject to a number of conditions and a Section 106 Agreement.
