Have your say on how Lancashire manages its waste in the future

Burnley residents are being invited to have their say on a new 10-year strategy setting out how rubbish and recycling will be managed across Lancashire between 2026 and 2036.

The Lancashire Waste Partnership, which includes Burnley Council and 14 other local authorities, is consulting on its new draft strategy, A Low Waste Lancashire.

The strategy considers what happens to rubbish and recycling and sets out the future direction for waste collection, management and disposal services across Lancashire.

Its aims include reducing waste, improving recycling rates and providing efficient services that offer value for money.

Residents and businesses are being asked for their views on the strategy’s vision, objectives and proposed actions. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Feedback received through the consultation will help shape the final waste strategy, which is due to be published later in 2026.

The consultation closes on 9 August 2026.

Anyone who requires the survey in an alternative format can contact Burnley Council on 01282 425011.
