Housing Enforcement Policy

The Private Sector Housing Team (PSHT) is part of the Housing and Development Control Unit within Burnley Borough Council.  The PSHT is concerned mainly with the Private Rented Sector however its remit also extends across all forms of tenure where appropriate.  The Council have statutory duties to regulate and enforce the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System, Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation and other rented dwellings in areas subject to selective licensing.  We also use other relevant legislation to ensure that homes are safe and well managed. Download the policy below.
