The following link will provide access to basic planning information relating to applications made between 1974 and 1999: Historic Plotting Sheets.
*Please note that these are scans of old records, some of which have deteriorated over time and may be illegible or incomplete.
How to use the plotting sheets
Step 1: Once you have clicked on the link above open the folder titled DRAWINGS then navigate to the file - INDEX.pdf (near the bottom of the page). This will open a map of the borough which is divided into a grid.
The numbers in brackets on the grid relate to the plotting sheet number for that area.
Step 2: Find the area that you are interested in (you can zoom if necessary) and make a note of the plotting sheet number (this is the number in brackets).
Step 3: Go back to the DRAWINGS folder and find the file with the number of the plotting sheet that you want.
*Tip* You may find the next part quicker if you open the file in a new tab or window, so you can easily return to the file list. To do this right click on the file and select Open in new tab/window.
Step 4: Locate the property/site that you are interested in. If there are any planning applications on the site they will be outlined with a number or numbers depending on how many applications have been made.
Step 5: If you opened this sheet up in a separate tab then go back to the tab with the list of files and click on Parent Directory once. Then click on the FILES folder.
Step 6: Open the folder that contains the number of the plotting sheet you have open then find the matching file and open it.
Step 7: The numbers in the first column match the numbers written on the plotting sheet. Match the number or numbers on the plotting sheet to those on the applications list and you will have the application details for your chosen site.
