Burnley Town Centre Conservation Area was designated on 26 February 1992.

It is provided for reference only and does not set out current national or local policy in respect of Conservation Areas generally or Burnley Town Centre specifically.
An up to date Character Assessment and Management Plan for the Conservation Area is s currently being prepered and will be available later in 2026.

Burnley Town Centre and Canalside Masterplan This was adopted by the Council on 28 November 2018. It is a non-statutory document which supports both Burnley’s Local Plan and the 2016 Burnley Town Centre Strategy.
