Requesting a search

To request an official search, please refer to the instructions on the Local Land Charge Search forms. Your solicitor will have these forms or you can buy them from law stationers.

The LLC1 must be submitted to HM Land Registry via their Portal at GOV.UK

What must you include with your CON29 search request?

If a search is submitted by a solicitor by post, cheques drawn on the solicitor’s client account are requested, made payable to ‘Burnley Borough Council’ for the correct amount as set out in the schedule of fees. Clients’ own cheques are not accepted as a method of payment.

The correct address quoted together with an up to date scale plan in duplicate showing the extent and location of the land subject of search, clearly edged in red.
