Give your immune system the boost it needs this winter

The government has announced an extension of the Covid booster programme, as all adults in England will be offered a booster jab by the end of the year.

The sudden ramping up of the booster vaccination programme is in reaction to the spread of the Omicron variant in the UK.

So when and how can you book your third dose?

Call 119, or visit: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccinati...

Who can get a Covid-19 booster jab?

Everyone over the age of 18 can get a third dose of a vaccine, so long as they have had a second dose at least three months ago.

The NHS booking system will be open to all over-18s from Wednesday 15th December. Currently, all over 30s can book. The system may put you in a virtual queue to book your booster jab due to high demand.

You can also get your booster dose at a walk-in Covid-19 vaccination site if you had your second dose at least three months ago. There are currently two such sites in Burnley; in the town centre and at Stoneyholme Community Centre (check Brunshaw Pharmacy's facebook or website for opening times)

Don't forget to keep on testing to help keep covid away from vulnerable friends or relatives this Christmas!

You can pick up a test kit from the trailer in the town centre or from local pharmacies.
