Partnership Working

many people, all burnley bondholders, gather on the football field below a sign indicating 10 years of the bondholder scheme

The Chief Executive of Burnley Council brings strategic leadership not just to the organisation, but to the place.  The ongoing transformation of the borough is dependent on the Council working in partnership with the wider public sector, private business and the community sector. For example, we have strategic partnerships with Liberata , Urbaser and Barnfield investment Properties.

The Chief Executive will play a significant role in attracting investment and jobs to Burnley, and the Bondholder Scheme helps make this happen.

As Chief Executive you will provide strategic leadership to this innovative scheme, which brings together a network of influential people from across all sectors who aim to raise Burnley’s profile by:

  • accelerating economic growth
  • improving the infrastructure
  • improving experiences
  • promotion and marketing
  • encouraging businesses to work together for the benefit of Burnley.

We want our young people to have access to a world class education. The Chief Executive will work with school leaders, Burnley College, UCLAN, the LEA, and local business to ensure that there is a relentless focus on raising aspiration and attainment.

The Council expects the Chief Executive to be able to forge new partnerships in response to emerging local priorities, and thereby position the Council to respond to complex and ever changing social and economic circumstances.
