Burnley Council’s Budget Book 2022-23

The following document gives full information of the Council’s Revenue Budget for 2022-23 and the Council’s Capital  Investment Programme (CIP)  for 2022/27.

How much is the council’s revenue budget?

The revenue budget for 2022/23 has been approved by a Budget Council on the 23 February 2022 at a figure of £15.322 million compared with a figure of £15.419 million for 2021/22.

In achieving a balanced budget for 2022/23, the council identified ongoing revenue budget savings of £0.889m.

Approximately 47% of the net budget requirement is paid for by Council Tax payers.

The council tax was set for the year at £2,146.50 for a band D property. This represented a 3.88% increase from 2021/22.

The Burnley Council element of this was £318.49 (approximately 14.8%) and was a 1.99% increase from 2020/21.
