Community Recovery Plan
The Council is a key player in Burnley Together which is a partnership that brings together a variety of services for the benefit of the local community. Read the Community Recovery Plan.
Burnley’s Economic Recovery Strategy
As the Council started to come out of the Covid pandemic emergency stage, it worked with partners to develop both an Economic Recovery Strategy and a Community Recovery Strategy.
The Economic Recovery Strategy is overseen by the Burnley Economic Recovery & Growth Board, chaired by Councillor Afrasiab Anwar, Leader of the Council. The Board has been successful in informing and guiding both the Council’s successful Levelling Up Fund Grant Application and UK Shared Prosperity fund and involves a range of partners including:

The Council adopted its ambitious Local Plan in 2018. View Burnley’s Local Plan.
Town Centre & Canalside Masterplan
The Council adopted its Town Centre & Canalside Masterplan in 2018, which has seen significant interventions being developed and highlighted in the Leader’s Introduction to this Application Pack.
Climate Change Strategy
The Council adopted its Climate Change Strategy in 2019.
