Burnley Council executive members who were unable to attend the blessing of the Christmas crib display dropped in to see it in Burnley Market.

Councillor Lubna Khan said “On behalf of the executive we would like to say a huge thank you to Building Bridges in Burnley, St Peter’s Church, and the other Burnley churches involved for creating this wonderful display. It means so much to local people.”

Councillor Scott Cunliffe, who took a break from volunteering at the foodbank in Down Town, said “It’s important more people see this so plans are already afoot to ensure it has a prominent place in the town centre next year.

“We wish everyone in Burnley and Padiham a happy Christmas and a prosperous new year”.

The blessing of the crib in recent years has been organised by Building Bridges in Burnley, along with local churches.
