Bereavement Services

We aim to provide a well organised and dignified burial and cremation service by responding promptly and sensitively to the needs of the bereaved, and by striving to meet the following:

Provide a service in accordance with the ICCM Charter for the Bereaved
Ensure that the service meets the needs of all faiths and religions and is responsive to the needs of every individual
Maintain a safe and attractive environment for burial and cremation
Conduct services in accordance with statutory legislation
Provide access to information and advice for the bereaved
Work closely with funeral directors, memorial masons, the NHS and other organisations to ensure professionalism and high standards throughout bereavement services

Opening times

The crematorium office and Book of Remembrance is open:

Weekdays (exept bank holidays) 9am – 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4.00pm
Saturdays 9am to 2pm

The crematorium GROUNDS are open every day of the year:

Weekdays (except bank holidays) from 9am till 4.45pm
Saturdays 9.00am – 4.45pm
Sundays 10.30am – 4.45pm
Bank holidays 10-30am – 4.45pm

Book of Remembrance

Sundays – The crematorium facility including the book of remembrance room is currently closed on Sundays (except over the Christmas/New Year Period) until further notice. Any one wishing to view an entry in the book of remembrance or the tree of life memorial on an alternative date, can do so by calling bereavement services to make an appointment on 01282 477148. Alternatively we will be happy to take a photograph of your entry in the book or inscribed leaf and email it directly to you, should this be an acceptable alternative.
