Historic object selected for county competition

An artefact to represent Burnley in a county-wide competition has been decided after a public vote.

A Pilkington pot, currently on show at Towneley Hall, has been picked by the people of Burnley as an item to represent the area in the ‘History of Lancashire in 70 Objects’ project.

Next step in boundary review

The next stage of a national review that could change the shape of Burnley’s Parliamentary boundary has started.

First HCA Starter Homes scheme in UK launched in Burnley

Barnfield Investment Properties, in partnership with Burnley Council, is delighted to announce that Burnley is delivering the first official government backed Starter Homes Scheme in the UK.

Garden waste collections re-start

Garden waste collections are due to start again in Burnley borough after a winter break.

The collections will restart on 27th February for those already on the brown bin service and will be free until a new, chargeable service comes in from 1st May 2017.

Work by renowned artists goes on show

A brand new exhibition on the region’s prominent artists is set to open at Towneley Hall next week.

The exhibition features paintings by talented 20th Century Nelson-born artists Orlando Greenwood and Hugh Gresty.
