Looking ahead, put a date in your diary for Saturday evening 4th November. That's when the town's big bonfire and fireworks extravaganza will be taking place at Towneley Park. Tickets will be on sale in a few weeks: watch this space.

And the weekend of 18th and 19th November sees the Christmas Lights switch on in Burnley town centre. With the improvement programme currently underway, and a wide range of shops gearing up for their festive promotions, it will be a great weekend for shoppers and visitors.
