This programme is a result of a successful partnership bid to round 6 of the Government’s ‘Regional Growth Fund’,   in conjunction with East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce,  Regenerate Pennine Lancashire and  North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.  
 
The Lancashire Business Growth Fund (LBG) can provide capital grants that will help to fund business growth projects across Lancashire that commit to significant job creation, additional investment from other sources, and that have a major impact on the Lancashire economy.
 
Applications will be assessed by an independent  panel compromising of a mix of private and public sector representatives.  The programme adopts a web based application process, with businesses that pass an initial expression of interest stage supported by a dedicated business advisor to develop a full application.

What is LBG for?
Capital investment projects that will stimulate company growth and create jobs. Some examples being;
  • Machinery acquisition
  • Property improvement
  • Property acquisition
  • Building expansions
  • Infrastructure improvement
How much is available?
Minimum grant funding of £10,000 dependent upon total project cost and the level of job creation
Grants may be allocated up to 20% of the total project cost, subject to state aid regulations and an analysis of the funding requirement.  An example project may involve a £50,000 total investment of which £10,000 is made available from LBG.
 
Am I eligible?
Eligible businesses will comply with the following criteria;
  • Based in the County of Lancashire (including Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool) or moving into the area
  • Plans for growth and the creation of jobs within 12 months of project completion.barry pearson
  • Small, Medium or Large Enterprises in accordance with the European Union definition. Companies over 250 employees may apply for this funding.
  • Operating on a Business to Business basis
State Aid rules apply with support dependent upon the minimum amount of public funding required, the size of the company and the location of the project.  Specific eligibility will be discussed with you upon application and your allocated advisor will support you through the process.
 
Priority will be given to companies in Lancashire’s priority sectors as identified by the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP):  manufacturing & engineering, energy & environmental, digital & creative, business & professional and food & drink.  Retail businesses are excluded.
 
Exclusions may apply to business activities, which could bring the programme into disrepute.
 
What’s the process?
If you are interested in applying for the fund, please complete the Expression of Interest form online.
 
The Expression of Interest is assessed and you may be contacted by one of our team to clarify any points.  If the project is deemed eligible, you will be invited to complete a Full Application, supported by a dedicated business advisor.
 
Your completed full application and supporting documents will be independent panel of private and public sector representatives.
 
One your project is approved you will receive an offer letter, setting out the project requirements in terms of expenditure, timescales.  Your advisor will guide you through this process.
 
Grant payments are made based on agreed milestones for overall project expenditure and job creation.
