Bonfire Night 2017

Bonfire and firework display notification

If you are planning to hold a bonfire and/or firework display on public land anywhere in the borough of Burnley on or around Bonfire Night we encourage you to notify us by completing a simple online form.

By doing this you are making the council and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, as well as other partners, aware of your plans. This helps us in our work to cut the number of accidents and reduce the anti-social and sometimes dangerous behavior associated with this time of the year. It also helps reduce the number of call-outs to the fire service, allowing firefighters to concentrate on more serious incidents.

This is part of the annual Brightsparx campaign that runs throughout the country.

Every year a small minority make life a misery for others by irresponsible use of fireworks or bonfires. Please always remember to “Follow the Firework Code”.

2017 Bonfire spectacular at Towneley Park

Last year's event was spectacular - and sold out fast !

So Burnley Council is holding another big community bonfire and firework display at Towneley Park on Saturday 4th November this year - a chance to enjoy an organised event in safe surroundings.

This popular annual event will be held on Saturday 4th November this year.

Early bird tickets go on sale on 2nd October until 20th October. After that tickets will be available at full price up until outlets close on 4th November.

Prices are the same as last year - £2 for single early bird and £6 for 4 tickets, and £3 for single standard tickets and £9 for 4 tickets. Parking passes (£5 per vehicle) can also be purchased during the same period. Tickets will be avialable from St Peter's and Padiham leisure centres, the Mechanics Theatre, Prairie Sports Village and Towneley Hall (cash only).

The fun fair will open at 6pm, followed by the lighting of the bonfire at 6.45pm, fireworks displays from 7.15pm, and the event will close at 9pm.
